For the second time in five weeks, San Diego FC has rewarded one of its top players with a contract extension.
The club on Wednesday announced that defender Christopher McVey has agreed to a new deal through the 2027 season with a player option for 2028. Financial terms were not disclosed; the new deal was effective Tuesday.

The Dynamo look to bounce back this weekend following a 3-1 defeat on the road to Minnesota United FC on Wednesday night. Defender Felipe Andrade was Houston’s lone goal scorer, pulling one back in second half stoppage time for his fourth goal of the year. Despite the result, the match saw goalkeeper Jonathan Bond make his 100th MLS regular season appearance, while defender Erik Sviatchenko made his return from injury, playing 62 minutes in his first match since May 3.
