San Diego FC & Milan Iloski mutually terminate loan
One of the best scorers in MLS is headed back to Denmark

Today, in what feels like the first real instance of the business of football getting in the way of the on-field football, San Diego FC and forward Milan Iloski have agreed to a mutual loan termination.
Thank You, Milan

Iloski's loan from sister club FC Nordsjælland was set to expire at the end of July, which was the reason given by head coach Mikey Varas for Iloski's absence in Saturday's road win against Chicago Fire FC.
Just two weeks ago, Iloski scored four goals in a match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC that pushed SDFC to the top of the Western Conference table. It was the signature win of the season for the team, and the best offensive output we've yet to see from an SDFC player:
SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps is quoted in the team's press release as saying “He played an important role in our early history, and we respect his desire to return to FC Nordsjælland and his decision to pursue other opportunities at this time. We wish him the best in this next stage of his career.”
It is not yet known why the 25-year old Escondido native decided to return to his original club. We might never know. But now Heaps knows at least one hole that might need to be filled on the club heading into the upcoming transfer window.
This news broke while Darren and I were recording today's podcast. We discussed now knowing what was happening or why, but we also talked about how valuable Iloski has been to the team this year. You can listen to it here.
