Series Preview: Padres at Diamondbacks

The red-hot Padres are hoping to steamroll the struggling Diamondbacks in Arizona starting tonight.

How much do teams like playing "spoiler" once their front office has given up on actually winning a championship? I have no idea, but that's about all Arizona has to play for when they welcome the San Diego Padres to Chase Field tonight.

Team Records

Arizona Diamondbacks: 53-59 (4th place, 26-28 at home)
San Diego Padres: 62-50 (2nd place, 26-31 on the road)

Another record to keep an eye on here is 30-37, which is Arizona's record against teams over .500.

The Padres added to their lineup, rotation and bullpen at the trade deadline, and the Diamondbacks did pretty much the opposite, so this one could end up being more lopsided than the records lead you to believe.
