There's never been a better MLS expansion team.

San Diego FC's finishes atop the Western Conference

The MLS regular season is officially over and HOO BOY do we have a lot to talk about.

Let's start with last night's game...

San Diego FC 4, Portland Timbers 0

I don't know if this was the worst game the Portland Timbers played all season, but it might've been the best one for San Diego FC.

SDFC controlled 70% of the possession and it somehow seemed even higher. This was not some anomaly, San Diego had twice as many shots on goal, nearly twice as many corners and more than 2x as many big chances.

The SDFC defensive third rarely felt threatened, and all of that possession was put to good use by Anders Dreyer (2 goals, 1 assist) and Amahl Pellegrino (2 goals, 1 assist).

And, while I posted the highlights above, I'd be remiss if I didn't single out this golazo from Dreyer:

SDFC looked, somehow, well rested and crisp with their passing. When they look like that, which we've seen from them probably a half-dozen times this season if not more, they are practically unbeatable.
