So you've subscribed to a private podcast...

Hello! Before I forget, thank you for being a part of Section 1904 and what we're building here. It continues to be exhilarating to see new signups and to get encouragement from those that have already subscribed.

I have been working behind the scenes on some technical situations that needed to be figured out and today, with a big helping hand from a fellow John, we're ready to roll some of these things out.

Private Podcasts (and Spotify)

Up until recently, my biggest challenge was getting the podcast on Spotify in a way that paid subscribers could listen to it but other people could not. Since 30% of our listening is happening on Spotify, this seemed important. And, with the help of a new podcast host, it's now possible. (Also, if today's episode was delayed for you, this transition was why.)

If you are a paid subscriber of Section 1904, even if your free trial hasn't yet expired, you should've received an email earlier today from [email protected]. That email has a button labeled "Start Listening". Click that button, click on your podcast platform of choice, and follow the step-by-step instructions to get subscribed to the "Section 1904 Subscribers Only" feed.

In the future (maybe next week, maybe the week after), Section 1904 will offer one (1) free episode per week on the Section 1904 feed that you can currently find on Spotify, Apple and everywhere else. If you're good with one episode per week, probably on Mondays, go ahead and stay subscribed where you're at.

If you want every episode of the Section 1904 podcast, to go along will full access to every written post here on the Section 1904 website, you'll need to subscribe to one of the paid tiers and then should receive the email with access to the paid podcast.

Section 1904 Discord server

We want a place where we can chat with you, and y'all can chat with each other, and the comments section of this website isn't cutting it.

I know there are other communities and podcasts that have Discord servers, I've ever helped set some of them up years ago, which hopefully will make it seamless for you to join ours.

If you are on a paid tier, look for an email today or tomorrow with your access to the Section 1904 Discord server. I will, undoubtedly, be in there with hot takes on tonight's NBA play-in games and the Padres-Cubs game at Petco Park.

I'm sure there will be lots more Section 1904 community-features coming soon, but wanted to make sure I got this post out so nobody was confused about their emails. Subscribe to the private podcast feed now so you don't have to worry about it later!
